For the past fourteen years, John C. Martin has been providing legal counsel to corporations and financial institutions on a wide range of matters. He has substantial experience resolving complex business disputes, including handling contract, fraud and breach of fiduciary duty claims. He also has done substantial work in the area of attorney professional responsibility. He is ideally suited for representing corporations, financial institutions, officers, directors and other fiduciaries.
In 2009, Mr. Martin left the partnership of a prestigious Chicago law firm to start his own firm, seeking to serve his clients' needs for receiving exceptional legal service in an even more financially efficient manner.
Mr. Martin is an active member of the American Bar Assocation's Section of Litigation. Ethics and Professionalism Committee. Since 2002, he has served as an editor of the Committee's newsletter, Litigation Ethics, and presently serves as the Committee's web editor. In those capacities, he monitors ongoing trends and developments with respect to attorney professional conduct and loss prevention. He has also authored a number of articles on ethical rules and professionalism.
Mr. Martin is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, receiving his law degree with honors in 1994. He graduated summa cum laude from Yale University in 1991. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and the following courts: The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh and Eighth Circuits, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Martin clerked for the Honorable Suzanne B. Conlon of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
